Archipel offers a knowledge-driven solution  in the form of regenerative agriculture. Our work over the past two years has generated regenerative agri-inputs and region-specific planting and cropping guidelines for replenishing green cover, diverse crop varieties, and beneficial pollinators across 13,000 acres of smallholding farms. Our work continues with a clear aim: to revitalise agrarian clusters across India grappling with multidimensional poverty and ecological fragility, restoring them to their former status as prosperous hubs for sustainable food production and agricultural entrepreneurship. 

Central to our approach is ensuring smallholding farmers have knowledge of and materials for  cultivating a diverse range of native crop varieties year-round without harming the environment. We do this as an investment in the well-being of agrarian communities, the resilience of food systems, and health of the population and environment at large. 

Our solution has many components – a suite of restorative practices, a consortium of biological agri-inputs, and a framework of sustainable operations. In the spirit of entrepreneurialism and efficiency, our passionate team of agroecological and operational experts merge these components together to create scalable and locally-adapted projects of biodiverse, regenerative agriculture. These projects bolster nourishing food systems and their agroeconomic resilience by supporting farmers to regenerate the fertility of their soils and reinstate the variety of cultivated crops which are native, nutritious, and profitable. 

Since their commencements in 2022, each project has evolved into an interdisciplinary innovation to enrich the livelihoods of smallholding farmer families and the wealth of the ecosystems which surround them. Led by the commitment  of experienced smallholding farmers, the opinions of local leaders, and the practices and principles of regeneration, these innovations are rebuilding soil health, enhancing crop and farmland biodiversity, and fostering self-sufficiency of the smallholding enterprise. 

The long-term sustainability and current success of our solution is due to its integration of approaches: terroir sciences, soil conservation, sustainable agroforestry, and waste management with infrastructures for production, distribution, and value addition of agri-inputs and produce. With a legacy to uphold, we are more than just a company: we are mobilisers of change, working tirelessly to protect the people and the environments which feed us and sustain our planet.
